Identification
of Employee Skills
This may involve:
Self Assessment
We use a range of tools to help employees assess their
own learning styles, strengths, development needs.
We can also look at how others view them. Tools used
are selected on a bespoke basis but might include
Occupational Personality Questionnaires, Facet 5 Myers Briggs
Type Indicator, Communication/ Learning/Team/Motivational Management
Style Profiles and 360 degree feedback.
Development Events
We can provide: full event design; design of bespoke
exercises; access to, delivery and feedback of a wide
range of off-the-shelf exercises/tests; structured
interviewing; fully experienced WorkLife observers;
observer training; employee feedback; event integration
(‘wash-up’) and management. With development
events emphasis is firmly on the employee, giving them
appropriate time to reflect and to receive feedback
and development plans.
Management Development
Intervention
This can include:
Team Building
Including
the leadership styles appropriate to the various stages
of team development, and team working, including helping
individuals reach their potential within a team environment
and working effectively with others.
Leadership and Change
Including planning, guiding, and helping people through change, equipping leaders
with the skills, processes and confidence to ‘win’ their people’s
commitment, leadership profiling and coaching.
Management Skills
Including the key processes and personal elements to help with areas such as
role definition, delegation, performance management, coaching and mentoring,
meeting management, self-organisation and maintaining ‘work-life’ balance,
etc.
Communication Skills
Individually and collectively, including interviewing for the many different
requirements, listening and getting messages across.
Staff Surveys
Qualitative surveys to explore attitudes towards roles, company culture and objectives, change etc.
Career Transition/Outplacement
Programmes
We combine counselling skills with practical training sessions. Programmes can
be provided on a one-to-one basis or in group sessions to suit company and individual
needs. Typically we work with organisations where individuals are at a cross
road in their career and need to reassess their skills and values or where employers
wish to provide support for those who are moving on from the organisation. We
work with employees at all levels within the organisation. Programmes may
be as short as half a day or more extensive as need/budget allows. Typically
we work at these stages:
Counselling
Usually working on a one-to-one basis we help employees
to carry out a personal stock take of their situation.
Moving on from here we help them to look at coping
with change and to clarify their preferences for the
future.
Self Marketing
This would be a practical programme designed to suit
needs and would aim to help individuals reassess their
personal strengths (we may use self assessment
tools to do this). From here we would
work on practical techniques to aid: job search skills;
CV and application letter design; interview and presentation
skills; familiarisation with assessment centres and
psychometric testing. We also have specialist WorkLife
modules on self marketing/assertiveness in career management
which includes expert techniques for ‘follow up’ using
the telephone and Personal Impact in a recruitment scenario.
