Structured interviewing


What is this?

  • Rigorous and consistent interviewing based around the competencies required for the role
  • Suitable for a one-off recruitment exercise, a volume recruitment project or a longer term campaign
  • Dependent upon the role and interview this would usually be approx 30 – 60 minutes in length
  • Usually all candidates are asked say the same structured competency based questions designed to probe into the key behavioural areas plus relevant technical questions. We can design the competency based questions but would take input from the recruiting managers on technical requirements
  • Each interview would usually follow the same opening and close
  • The interview is supported by an objective rating and reporting format
  • Should candidates complete an on-line personality questionnaire the information gleaned here could be used to support additional interview questions specific to that candidate

What do WorkLife do? The logistics and timescales

After taking a full brief on the role and the competencies, we can:

  • Design the interview content
  • Interview on your behalf (on either a telephone or face-to-face basis), producing objective ratings and reports on the candidates
  • Train your own team to deliver these services
  • Work alongside your recruiters providing advice, support or facilitation of the interview
  • Usually it takes us 1-2 days to produce the interview content
  • In general we require 3-5 days notice if you wish us to take an on-site brief or to be available for on-site interviewing
