Wider assessment centre services from WorkLife

You have a range of options here:

  • We can just design the centre and the client’s team can run it
  • We can design, manage and run the centre in it’s entirety for the client
  • We can train the client’s own team as assessors, centre managers/lead assessors
  • Or we can support the event with WorkLife assessors as appropriate

Centre management

We can provide a Centre Manager/Lead Assessor who will:

  • Order and co-ordinate all materials
  • Brief assessors and co-ordinate assessor packs
  • Greet candidates at the centre and make a brief presentation on the day about what to expect from the centre
  • Act as focal point for both candidates and assessors throughout the day
  • Co-ordinate exercises; amalgamate scores; ensure exercises and scoring run to time
  • Collate and check quality of all assessor reports
  • Take responsibility for the quality control of assessment standards throughout the day and at wash-up to ensure consistency, objectivity and balance
  • Take overall responsibility for the administration of exercises
  • Facilitate the wash-up session


Assessor training

This generally includes:

  • A bespoke assessor training course (usually 1 – 2 days) covering the key skills required to be a competent assessor. Focus here is on ORCE skills (Observe, Record, Classify and Evaluate)
  • Hands-on practice and familiarisation with the actual assessment centre exercises
  • Familiarity with the scoring process for the particular events and the wash up session
  • A succinct user-friendly assessor training manual for assessors to take away

WorkLife assessors

  • All of our assessors are fully trained in ORCE skills
  • Our assessors are trained to BPS Level B
  • WorkLife will carry out full and effective training of our team to ensure familiarity with the development dimensions, exercises and scoring criteria, with particularly detailed training in the exercises at no extra cost
  • Assessors are available for the complete length of the centre.

One-off bespoke exercise design

  • We can design bespoke assessment centre exercises (without working on the full assessment centre) if you wish
  • These would be bespoke to your organisation and would not be available for use by other companies
  • These would have full face validity for your organisation.
  • We can design: group exercises, candidate presentations, in-tray exercises, role plays, fact finding exercises, analysis exercises, personality questionnaires, ability tests and scheduling exercises
  • We would produce all of the relevant paperwork and guides including:
  • Bespoke and company branded paperwork:
    • Participant instructions
    • Assessor guide
    • Assessor report forms
    • Admin instructions

Candidate management

We can carry out the administrative tasks connected with the initial recruitment and assessment process including:

  • Requests for application forms
  • Receipt of applications
  • Candidate pass/reject emails or letters
  • Setting up of telephone/face-to-face interviews
  • Candidate invitations to assessment centre and all appropriate correspondence
  • Handling of FAQ’s from candidates
